Danielle Deadwyler, heavily lauded actress from award winning productions like 'Till' and 'The Piano Lesson', is starring in Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures upcoming psychological horror film 'The Woman in the Yard', from Spanish-American director Jaume Collet-Serra ('House of Wax', ' Orphan').
The movie will be premiering March 28th worlwide, with Blumhouse's intention for it to be the next horror success. The movie follows a family living a peaceful life in a rural area, when one day a lady covered in a black veil appears in their front lawn with a horrible message for the mother (Danielle Deadwyler) and not leaving them. The life of everyone in the house starts crumbling as weird things start happening, and the horror gets out of hand.
First trailer for 'The Woman in the Yard' released today, announcing the premiere date, and not revealing too much plot details, other than a few of the horrors these mother and children have to deal with this dreadful presence haunting their property.
Director Jaume Collet-Serra has done horror before, and although his movies are not usually lauded by the critics (like 'Black Adam' or 'House of Wax') he does have some widely loved projects like 'Orphan', that has been a referent for horror since releasing. The trailer seems promising, and it's only a few months before we get to discover the mystery behind 'The Woman in the Yard', are you expectant?
