In case you're not familiar, 'Honey Don't!' is the second installment of the "lesbian B-movie trilogy" by filmmaker Ethan Cohen, alongside his wife Tricia Cooke, premiering in May, 2025, although we don't have a trailer, or even a poster to know what we're gonna get from 'Honey Don't!'.
The first film in the trilogy, 'Drive-Away Dolls" already gives an idea of what we're gonna see, though. Wacky scene transitions, and even wackier humour, with a lot of poorly made sex jokes and non sensical dialogues that are only valid in this absurdist universe.
The "B-movie" part is very serious here, since the movies are intentionally cheap looking and a little all over the place, meant to be silly, just a fun time for the viewer that doesn't really ask you to engage with the content at more than face value.
Margaret Qualley, who is also the main protagonist of 'Drive-Away Dolls' alongside Geraldine Viswanathan, is coming back to star in 'Honey Don't!', this time with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans joining her as the other main characters.
Without a trailer and with the team keeping details about the plot very private, the only thing we know about the film is that it will be a detective film, following Honey O'Donahue (Qualley) a private investigator following a lead on a cult leader (Evans), but everything goes wrong for her when a mysterious woman (Plaza) comes into play to make her lose focus of her target.
The Focus Features production will probably have a poster and a trailer soon enough, given that it's premiering in just 4 months, so we'll see how outlandish the film ends up being.
