According to Deadline, the iconic filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, known for titles as great as 'The Sixth Sense', 'Unbreakable' and 'Signs' and other not so critically successful projects like 'Knock at the Cabin', 'Glass' or 'Old', is already working on his next move alongside beloved American writer Nicholas Sparks, and Jake Gyllenhaal will be the one bringing life to the main character in this story.
M. Night Shyamalan is always in conversation for his campy and over the top premises and executions, with some being successful and gathering positive opinions from both critics and audiences, and some other polarizing titles that become iconic for how bad some people consider them to be, like it was the case with his last project 'TRAP', starring Josh Hartnett and Saleka Night, Shyamalan's daugther.
This time around he's teaming up with Nicholas Sparks, a critical darling in the literary world when it comes to his romance books, several of which have very successful film adaptations.
Sparks and Shyamalan co-created an idea for a paranormal romance, and they are developing the idea separatedly in their respective mediums, meaning Shyamalan is writting a screen and producing a film, while Sparks is writing a novel, both in the same universe, with the same characters and the same plot, but each with their personal touch to it.
Luckily we can get more details soon about what this paranormal romance is going to entail, but in the meantime, there's a lengthy catalogue to visit if you haven't seen the filmmaker's past projects.
