Starring Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding ('Scream'), 'Heart Eyes' is a horror film, more especifically of the slasher sub-genre, by director Josh Ruben, with a screenplay by Michael Kennedy and Christopher Landon, who have worked together before in other slashers like 'Freaky' and 'Time Cut', with Phillip Murphy also contributing to the script.
Expectedly, the film follows a lot of the tropes we know from slasher movies, only this time around our main killer "Heart Eyes" focus solely on couples, and people in love, and our main protagonist Ally (Holt), although she's single and going through a breakup, calls the killer's attentionafter sharing a romantic kiss with her new handsome and charming co-worker Jay (Gooding).
We follow this unlikely couple as they get to know each other in a frantic night while trying to run from this merciless killer, who does not care to kill everything and anything that gets in their way.
The film ended its theatrical run with over $30 million worlwide on an $18 million budget, and it case you missed this bloody fun while it was available on theaters, now you can watch it from your comfy couch this weekend.
