Anova Pictures just finished production for 'This Is Not A Test' an upcoming new take on Zombie horror by filmmaker Adam MacDonald, who is behind the direction and writing of this movie, with help from Courtney Summers on the screenplay, the original author of the novel this film is based on.
Adam's genre is definitely horror, so he sure knows what he's doing when it comes to bloody fun, and in this case with 'This Is Not A Test', the movie is allegedly a typical 'unlikely friend group' trope in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, where a group of people take shelter in a High School trying to run from the zombies, and end up having to stick together despite how different they might be on the outside.
The lead actress, Olivia Holt, has been taking space in the horror genre in the last few years with her latest role being Spyglass' 'Heart Eyes', and she's starring alongside Froy Gutierrez ('Teen Wolf'), Luke Macfarlane ('Bros'), Chloe Avakian ('Locke & Key'), Corteon Moore ('From') and Carson MacCormac ('Shazam').
It's a small group of actors, and for what we know the movie might be a single location as well, so let's see if they have the chemistry and MacDonald has the writing ability to pull something like this successfully.
There's still not a distribution deal for the United States that we are aware of at the moment, nor a premiere date, but given that the film is already in post-production and that Blue Fox Entertainment is planning on showing this in Berlin at the EFM, we might be hearing from it again by the second half of the year. Maybe even a close to Halloween release.
