Tekashi 6ix9ine just cannot seem to stay out of the headlines, or out of court. The rapper, famous for his colorful hair and controversial antics, just landed himself a three-month prison sentence for violating the terms of his supervised release. Talk about a repeat offender.
A federal judge handed down the sentence this week in New York.
This is the same judge who previously gave him a break and granted him early release back in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Clearly, that trust was wrong.
The judge, not mincing words, reportedly called Tekashi 6ix9ine a "dumpster fire" during the proceedings.
Definitely, one description you do not want in a courtroom transcript.
The violations that sent him back behind bars were not just minor technicalities.
The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, admitted he was in possession of cocaine and ecstasy—or coke and ex—after federal agents raided his property this past summer.
On top of the drug charges, Tekashi also pleaded guilty to getting physically aggressive with a man in a shopping mall who publicly called him a "snitch."
While federal sentencing guidelines suggested he could face up to nine months, the judge opted for the shorter three-month term, noting that some jail time was mandatory for breaking the rules.
The court made it clear that Tekashi has a clear disrespect for the law and the judicial system.
His probation was initially accepted after he cooperated in a high-profile racketeering case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang.
Tekashi 6ix9ine must report to prison on January 6, 2026.
For someone who seems to thrive on chaos, three months of forced quiet time might be the break everyone, including the rapper himself, needs.
