Police in New Orleans arrested actor Shia LaBeouf on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Authorities processed Shia LaBeouf at a local jail shortly after 1:30 PM. This arrest follows a new warrant that officials issued on Friday.
He turned himself in voluntarily to face the additional charges.
The new warrant connects to the same incident that occurred on February 17, 2026, during Mardi Gras celebrations.
Police initially arrested Shia LaBeouf on February 17 and charged him with two counts of simple battery.
Reports from witnesses and police documents stated that he allegedly used homophobic slurs and punched multiple people outside the R Bar.
The new warrant adds a third count of simple battery to the existing case.
Court records and reports indicate that investigators now accuse Shia LaBeouf of head-butting a third person during that same February 17 brawl.
Sarah Chervinsky, the attorney representing Shia LaBeouf, issued a statement regarding the second arrest.
Sarah Chervinsky argued that officials are treating Shia LaBeouf more harshly because of his status as a public figure.
She noted that no regular person would likely face jail time twice for the same misdemeanor incident.
Following the booking on Saturday, Shia LaBeouf posted a $5,000 bond. He remains out of custody while he awaits the next steps in the legal process.
A judge previously ordered Shia LaBeouf to undergo drug testing and enroll in substance abuse treatment during a hearing on Thursday.
The investigation into the incident continues as court proceedings move forward.
