A History of the Bible: The Septuagint, the Apocrypha and the Pseudepigrapha

By the 2nd century BC most Jews no longer understood Hebrew and the Bible was unintelligible to them. A Greek translation, the Septuagint, was made. The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha were written and attributed to ancient Biblical heroes.
