The Labyrinth: The Palace of Minos at Knossos

Built as a palace for a Bronze Age Minoan king, the structure was leveled by an earthquake in 1700 BC but immediately rebuilt on a more lavish scale. It became the residence of a Mycenaean Greek warlord before it was finally destroyed in the days of the Trojan War.
