United States VS Aaron Burr (Documentary Series)

After being appointed commanding general of U.S.

forces by President John Adams in 1798, Washington turned down Burr's application for a brigadier general's commission during the Quasi-War with France.

Washington wrote, "By all that I have known and heard, Colonel Burr is a brave and able officer.
