INTAKE is an observational, action-packed and inspirational documentary series following recruits from across New Zealand (Aotearoa) as they undertake the intense 16-week Army BASIC training in Waiouru, in the middle of NZ's Volcanic Plateau.

For many this is their chance to escape from challenging home lives and change their lives for the better.
