Angry at being swindled into a phony oil deal, samba-stepping Iowa native Joe Bascom follows slippery con man Harry Lambert to Mexico City. Joe's hometown sweetheart, now known as Montana, is the country's foremost female bullfighter.

Joe catches up with Harry at the bull arena, where Montana is about to choose the "Amigo Americano" in a publicity scheme cooked up by Harry.
