Therapist Jay Rossi is assigned a patient who claims to have been abducted.

When her stories take on an aura of truth rather than delusion he concocts a plan to confront the alien intelligence menacing her. He absconds with his patient to a cabin in the mountains to document the phenomenon, but tangling with an otherworldly intelligence proves more dangerous than they could have ever foreseen.
