Strange incident occurs in a village. An only son of the family disappears & his grandmother is worried that there will be no heir.

Her youngest daughter-in-law faces pressure for a male heir but this has been made impossible by the refusal of her husband to consummate the marriage.

Another dalit woman in the village, called Sarjabai who is wife of a serving soldier, is accused of witchcraft.
