Karl meets the beautiful Nini from Vienna and falls head over heels, but loses her phone number. All he knows about her, is that she spends every birthday at the famous Café Sacher.

Determined to find her, Karl puts his life in Berlin on hold and travels to Vienna, only to sit at Café Sacher every day waiting for her. There, he meets Miriam, who shows him around Vienna on his search for true love.
