Told through the eyes of an elderly man reading a diary from the German Occupation of France, it tells the story of Louise, a young Jewish woman who had her identity changed with the help of Hans, a young SS Officer who rejects the Nazi ideology.

But the two lovers can't escape the animosity of war forever.
