Avalanche! The 1910 Great Northern Railway Disaster

A 1910 blizzard trapped two Great Northern Railway trains in the Cascade Mountains. An avalanche crashed down from the mountainside, sweeping the trains off of the tracks and killing 96 people.

The avalanche was America's worst avalanche disaster.
