Hamburg, mid 80's, Alex is a cabby because she can't decide what to do with her life. The passengers she drives are drunks, ignorants and other misfits.

She could go on like this forever, or - she could drive away, and leave it all behind her. In doing so, she would lose Marc and not get rid of Dietrich. A little monkey, who shares her desire for freedom, intervenes...
