Monty Lopez, the father of pop star Addison Rae, faces legal trouble in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, following an arrest for felony obscenity.
According to court documents obtained on February 17, 2026, authorities arrested Monty Lopez (legal name Manolito Juan Lopez) on July 27, 2025.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office accused him of exposing his genitals in a public place with the intent of arousing sexual desire or appealing to prurient interests.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 31, 2024, nearly a year before the actual arrest.
Monty Lopez has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which the court classifies as a sex crime. Prosecutors currently recommend a sentence of one year of hard labor.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he has a court hearing scheduled for March 19, 2026.
This legal situation adds to a string of public controversies involving the 48-year-old, whose personal life has frequently made headlines since his daughter’s rise to fame on TikTok.
The arrest follows several years of public drama within the Lopez family.
Monty Lopez and Addison Rae’s mother, Sheri Easterling, married in 2004, divorced, and then remarried in 2017 before splitting permanently in 2022.
The 2022 breakup occurred after allegations surfaced that Monty Lopez cheated on Sheri Easterling.
Following the split, Sheri Easterling briefly dated rapper Yung Gravy, while Monty Lopez eventually remarried Kaitlyn Nicole Robins in Las Vegas in October 2025 after a brief two-week romance.
Addison Rae has not publicly commented on her father’s legal issues. She and her brothers, Enzo and Lucas, have occasionally distanced themselves from their father’s social media antics in the past.
Monty Lopez has maintained his innocence regarding the latest charges as he prepares for his upcoming court date.
The case continues to draw attention as fans and legal observers wait to see the outcome of the March hearing.
