Atlanta rapper OJ Da Juiceman, whose legal name is Otis Williams Jr., faces multiple felony charges following a high-speed chase in Coweta County, Georgia.
Authorities initiated a traffic stop on Williams' 2024 Ford Expedition on the night of March 4 after spotting the vehicle speeding.
According to police reports, the rapper ignored the initial commands to pull over and led deputies on a brief pursuit before finally stopping on Interstate 85.
Upon searching the vehicle, law enforcement discovered a 9mm handgun, a significant amount of cocaine, and over $8,000 in cash.
Deputies believe the currency directly linked to the distribution of illegal substances.
Williams now faces a total of ten charges, including drug trafficking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing to elude police, tampering with evidence, and obstruction of law enforcement.
A judge denied bond for the "Make tha Trap Say Aye" artist during his initial court appearance on March 5. He remains in custody at the Coweta County Jail as he awaits trial.
Legal experts note that the trafficking and firearm charges carry mandatory minimum sentences in Georgia, particularly for individuals with a prior felony record.
This incident marks the second time in recent years that OJ Da Juiceman has faced serious legal trouble; he was previously arrested in Kentucky on similar firearm and drug possession charges.
The rapper’s team has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the arrest or the specific allegations of evidence tampering.
In the meantime, several figures in the hip-hop community, including Juicy J, have voiced their support for OJ Da Juiceman on social media.
Despite these public gestures, the severe nature of the trafficking charges suggests a lengthy legal battle ahead for the veteran trap pioneer.
