Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez and Emilia Clarke were kissing in the middle of the streets of North London for the upcoming Drake Doremus movie 'Next Life'. Doremus previous work, mostly drama, always tries to bring a new twist to the genre, like with his film 'Equals' starring Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hault.
This time around, for 'Next Life', we're following Ivy (Clarke), a woman who finds herself living two alternate realities very different from each other. Edgar Ramirez and Jack Farthing are the love interests for the main protagonist in this sci-fi drama happening in modern London.
How present or how big the sci-fi tones of the movie are going to be, we don't know yet, but with previous Doremus titles, we can expect lots of drama and complicated nuanced relationships, that's what he does best. He'll be directing, producing and writing for 'Next Life', with Emilia Clarke as executive producer and Mutressa and Fetisoff Illusion as the main production companies behind the film.
Speculating, since he's gonna be one of the main love interests, this would be Edgar Ramirez's first role in a couple of years being front of the page, since he tends to be mostly on the background in the last productions he's been a part of, like award winning musical 'Emilia Perez' this year.
The movie is going to end production before the end of the year, so we might be seeing promo and trailers for mid 2025, or maybe 2026 if the team wants to enroll the movie for the festivals circuit.
