After the success of Furiosa and in the wait of her upcoming film 'The Gorge', Anya Taylor-Joy takes 'Lucky' as her newest project for Apple TV+, where she will star and executive produce alongside Reese Whiterspoon and Lauren Neustadter, according to Variety
The original material, a book by author Marissa Stapley, is out since 2021 and it's fairly popular amongst readers, specially after being in the selection of Reese Whiterspoon famous book club, so it's not a surprise that Apple takes the opportunity for a screen adaptation as a limited series.
'Lucky' follows a scam artist whose life go sideways when she tries to change her ways and live a normal life, having to dive into crime one last time without any guidance, will she make it out alive? It's a crime thriller with a corageous female lead that that will win everyone's hearts with her personality.
There are not that many details about locations, other people joining the cast or who is going to be directing the show, since it seems the project is very recent, but we do know Jonathan Tropper (Banshee; Warrior) and Cassie Pappas (Silo; Tyrant) are adapting the book and taking care of the script.
Let's hope that the project ends up being a hit for Apple TV+, since they have been delivering the quality with the latest shows, like Alfonso Cuaron's Disclaimer.
