The competitive Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars culminates tonight, November 25, as the five remaining celebrity-and-pro couples perform three challenging routines for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
The finalists—Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, actress Elaine Hendrix, reality star Dylan Efron, and social media personality Alix Earle—will each perform a Judges' Choice dance, an Instant Dance, and the crucial Freestyle routine.
However the contestants have spent months honing their technique and performance skills, and now face a triple threat of pressure-filled routines.
For the Judges' Choice round, the judges directly guided the couples as they prepared a dance they previously struggled with. For example, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson will perform a Quickstep set to Jet's “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” while Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy will take on the Samba to “Hip Hip Chin Chin” by Club des Belugas.
Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa dance a Paso Doble to Rihanna's “Breakin' Dishes,” Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach perform a Paso Doble to “Stampede” by Alexander Jean featuring Lindsey Stirling, and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten will dance a Rumba to “Take My Breath Away” by Jae Hall.
The most anticipated and highest-stakes portion of the evening is the Freestyle routine.
This performance allows the couples to abandon traditional ballroom rules, showcasing their creativity, athleticism, and emotional journey throughout the competition.
Althought the music choices for the Freestyles reflect the eclectic nature of the season: Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach choose the emotional “Something In The Heavens” by Lewis Capaldi; Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten opt for a Broadway theme with “I Hope I Get It” from A Chorus Line; Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa perform to Normani’s “Motivation.” Meanwhile, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson will dance to a mash-up of Sam Sparro's “Black & Gold” and Avicii’s “The Nights,” and Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy use a blend of Nelly Furtado’s “Maneater” and Tate McRae’s “Sports Car.”
Viewer votes combined with the judges' scores determine the champion, giving fans a direct role in deciding who lifts the trophy on this exciting finale night.
