In the middle of the press tour for her upcoming Prime Video movie, Reese Witherspoon gives us an update for the 'Legally Blonde' prequel series that she's producing alongside Amazon MGM Studios: 'Elle'.
Apart from all her outstanding work as an amazing actress Reese Witherspoon has been producing a lot of TV shows and movies with different studios, and as part of her deal with Amazon Studios, she announced back in 2024 that the was a prequel series in early works about Elle Woods, the beloved protagonist of the 'Legally Blonde' universe set to premiere in Amazon Prime Video.
And after a lot of months of radio silence, we're finally hearing that the show is about to enter production this March, and they're currently casting young Elle Woods.
One would think that the obvious choice for this would be Witherspoon daugther, who is a carbon copy of her mother when it comes to looks, so she would be the perfect girl if they were looking for accuracy or resemblance, but Ava Phillippe has not done her acting debut yet, and maybe they're trying to avoid the nepotism allegations considering that Witherspoon mentions there's a lot of competition going on for the role.
In 'Elle', we're gonna be following young Elle navigating life and drama going through high school, and for February at least, we should have confirmed face that would bring her to life, if filming is starting in March, and by the second half of the year, there should be a premiere date for the show.
