Upcoming romantic fantasy film by lauded director Kogonada 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey', suffers a delay by Sony Pictures until September 19, 2025, instead of premiering on May 9 like they initially were going to.
The film entered production in early 2024, when Kogonada ('Columbus') joined in as the director for a script by Seth Reiss ('The Menu'), a script that he had been trying to produce since 2020.
'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey' will follow Margot Robbie ('Babylon') and Colin Farrell ('The Banshees of Inisherin') who are the main couple moving this film, two complete strangers whose destinies connect.
Although the original screenplay by Reiss is available online, we don't know what changes he did before starting production, but besides our main characters, we have a lot of talented actors joing the ensemble cast, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge ('Fleabag'), Lily Rabe ('American Horror Story'), Jodie Turner-Smith ('After Yang'), Brandon Perea ('Twisters') and many more.
The reasons for the delay have not been specified, but we might be seeing more about 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey' at the upcoming CinemaCon where Sony Pictures has a spot and they should start promoting this project if they want it to do good in the Box office.
Hopefully, in the next two weeks we can get an official poster and trailer for this movie, and that the join forces of director Kogonada and screenwriter Seth Reiss deliver an epic love story.
