Filming is going on for 'Primetime', a true crime drama by director Lance Oppenheim, and singer songwriter Phoebe Bridgers was on set alongside co-stars Robert Pattinson ('The Batman') and Merrit Wever ('Severance').
Allegedly, production is going on since early february and now they have moved to filming in the open and that's why we're just seeings the first leaks of the set and the actors, since we didn't know anything about Pattinson's (who is also producing the movie) co-stars just yesterday.
This will mark Phoebe Bridgers debut in a major role, since we've seen her before in Jane Schoenbrun's 'I Saw The TV Glow' as a band member, but no dialogue, so 'Primetime would be the first speaking role for the songwriter.
And in case you're not familiar with the production, 'Primetime' will be the feature film debut by Oppenheim, with a screenplay by Ajon Singh, in which we'll follow a journalist (Pattinson) who is trying something revolutionary in his attempt to expose criminals. The film is (at least) loosely based on the early 2000's tv show 'To Catch A Predator', where the host exposed potentially dangerous individuals while they were trying to meet up with minors.
Oppenheim previous job with documentaries, including his HBO docu-series 'Ren Faire' has been consistently great, receiving a lot of compliments for what he does, so Phoebe Bridgers is definitely in great hands with this.
Let's wait and see if A24 (who is producing and distributing the film) is going to premiere this in next year's festival circuit, or if it will have a limited theatrical release like usual.
