Peacock Original just shared the first official teaser for the upcoming season of the hit series 'Poker Face', a crime dramedy starring Golden Globe nominee Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a runaway casino worker that ends up having to deal with strange deaths everywhere she goes.
The series creator is Knives Out writer and director Rian Johnson, with Nora and Lilla Zuckerman as showrunners. The first season was a complete homerun, receiving critical acclaim and a loving fanbase on the internet, with 98% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Natasha Lyonne has directing credits in some episodes of the second season, and in case you're not familiar with the show, the series is trying to bring new life into the "case of the week" formula, with Charlie having to help figure out what happened to whoever ends up dead the next episode.
Therefore, there are not that many recurring characters, with Charlie (Lyonne) being a runaway who's not staying anywhere for long. Benjamin Bratt and Simon Helberg are two recurring characters we see throughout the series, but there have been some iconic guest actors.
In the first season, we saw Oscar winner Adrien Brody, and Oscar nominees Stephanie Hsu and Hong Chau, alongside many other legendary stars, and the second season is no differente, with confirmed guest actors like Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, John Mulaney and Sam Richardson.
The series will begin streaming this May 8 on Peacock, and it will consist of 12 episodes of over 45 minutes each. Definitely, if you are a comedy fan, you can't miss this one, make sure you're checking it.
