After having one of the most successful and awarded dramedy series for 5 years, 'Succession' creator Jesse Armstrong is developing a new movie for HBO, and after a month of the initial news, we have a cast for it.
At the moment the upcoming film doesn't even have a title yet, but we do know that Armstrong and Frank Rich are teaming on again for this one (Succession's executive producer) and it will follow a similar environment to the series.
The film, which is Armstrong directorial debut, focuses around 4 billionaires getting together to try and decide what they're going to do in the middle of a worldwide financial crisis, and the four actors bringing this project to life are all known their comedic prowess, even if it's deadpan comedy at that.
Steve Carell ('The Office'), Ramy Youssef ('Poor Things'), Jason Schwartzman ('Scott Pilgrim vs. the World') and Cory Michael Smith ('May December'). While all of them have been in wildly different projects throughout the year, we're sure Armstrong has a vision for how he can make their personalities adjust to his characters.
Just like he did with the award winning cast of 'Succession', putting them on to even greater things after demolishing TV awards with each passing season of the show.
The movie will begin filming this month in the United States, and we don't know yet if there's a theatrical release in the picture or if it's going straight to Max streaming service, but if it's going to be a film with few locations and mostly dialogues, we might get news about it sooner than expected.
In the meantime, if you haven't yet, you shoudl definitely check the show on Max and binge watch the four season this weekend.
