Actress Tara Reid recently detailed a terrifying incident she experienced at a Chicago hotel bar, stating she believes someone drugged her drink and emphasizing her fortune that she avoided a much worse outcome.
The American Pie star spoke out about the harrowing night, confirming the events that led to her hospitalization.
Tara Reid explained the sequence of events began around 10:30 PM on a Saturday. She went to the hotel bar and ordered a glass of wine.
However, she left the glass briefly to step outside for a cigarette. When she returned, she noticed a napkin covering her wine glass, which she had not placed there.
She removed the napkin and finished the drink.
Within a short period, her condition deteriorated rapidly.
By midnight, Reid was on her way to the hospital, and footage from the hotel showed her first slumped in a wheelchair and then being loaded onto a stretcher.
She woke up eight hours later in a hospital bed, barely remembering the intervening hours.
Reid maintains that hospital staff confirmed she had been "drugged," though the information they provided about the substance was "vague."
Consequently, she does not know which type of drug someone allegedly slipped into her beverage.
Despite previous, well-documented substance abuse issues, Reid insists she had only consumed that single glass of wine before waking up in the hospital.
She expressed her astonishment, even thinking at one point she had woken up in Mexico due to her confused state.
Therefore, she is now considering filing a police report to find out exactly what happened and who may have been responsible.
