Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon, two comedy powerhouses, will bring the laughs in their upcoming comedy project. The film, ready for release in 2025, promises a hilarious clash of cultures and personalities as two families accidentally book the same destination wedding venue. Fresh off his comedic tour de force in Spirited, Ferrell will once again showcase his comedic talents, this time playing a boisterous and eccentric groom. Furthermore, Witherspoon, known for her roles in Big Little Lies, Your Place or Mine and The Morning Show, will take on the role of a glamorous and uptight bride. As the two families collide, the wedding weekend quickly spirals out of control. From language barriers to outrageous family members, the film will keep audiences entertained with its blend of physical comedy, witty dialogue, and cultural misunderstandings; production began in 2022 with the confirmation of the cast and shooting locations.
The plot gets around a bride to be (Geraldine Viswanathan) and her father (Ferrell) discover their dream wedding venue has been double book for another bride (Meredith Hagner) and her wedding-planner sister (Witherspoon), with hilarious consequences. In addition, Nicholas Stoller will write, direct and produce the film from his own script that he wrote himself while Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon are starring and also serves as producers alongside Jessica Elbaum, Gloria Sanchez, Conor Welch and Lauren Neustadter while serving as executive producers are Ashley Strumwasser, Alex Brown and Gloria Sanchez. Moreover, principal photography began in Atlanta in May 2023 and will be premiering in the United States by Amazon Prime Video on January 30, 2025. Other cast memebers include actor Jimmy Tatro, Jack McBrayer and Lauren Holt as well.
