NBA legend Paul Pierce is facing a significant financial demand following a paternity lawsuit filed by Princess Santiago.
According to court documents obtained on Thursday, March 26, 2026, Santiago is asking a judge to order the former Boston Celtics star to pay $29,811 per month in child support for her newborn.
This request follows a paternity suit she initially filed in California back in January, claiming Pierce is the father of her then-unborn child.
In addition to the monthly support, Santiago seeks sole legal and physical custody of the infant.
She is also requesting that Pierce cover $100,000 of her legal fees and approximately $18,846 for expenses related to her pregnancy and the birth of the child.
To finalize the legal standing of these claims, Santiago has again requested genetic testing to confirm paternity.
The court filings highlight Pierce's extensive earnings during his professional basketball career, which spanned from 1998 to 2017.
Santiago’s legal team points out that Pierce earned roughly $200 million in total NBA salary.
The documents also reference public statements made by the athlete, where he claimed his endorsement income was so substantial that he never had to touch his official salary to fund his lifestyle or support his family and romantic partners.
Princess Santiago previously stated that her legal actions are not about seeking drama or public attention.
Instead, she maintains that she is looking to secure the necessary support for her child based on Pierce's significant wealth and financial history.
While the monthly demand of nearly $30,000 is high, it aligns with California’s guidelines for high-earning individuals in family court cases.
