The Emmy winner Jeremy Allen White is joining Netflix as executive producer and the star of an upcoming adaptation of 'Enigma Variations', another beloved novel by 'Call Me By Your Name' writer André Aciman, in the form of a limited series.
The 2017 novel has a lot of praise, with some regarding it as the highest example of Aciman's style, a drama centering around Paul, a bisexual man with a tumultuous life, taking us through his experiences and relationships since childhood to late in life.
Amanda Kate Shuman will be serving as both and showrunner and the writer for this adaptation, known for her work in shows like 'Wheel of Time' and 'The Blacklist', with Oliver Hermanus directing, whose LGBT period film 'The History of Sound' starring Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor is coming out soon.
Previous adaptation for an Aciman novel (Call Me By Your Name) was a total success amongst the general public and the critics, earning Timothee Chalamet his first Oscar nomination, and considering that Jeremy Allen White is jumping on the project so early, the expectations are high for the quality of the script and the beauty of the visuals for 'Enigma Variations'.
Let's hope that early production goes well and Netflix decides to move forward with it, so they can bring this interesting character and all his happenings to life and we can have some much needed bisexual representation.
If it moves according to plan, we'll be getting some cast announcements and more details about the plot in the upcoming months.
