Nicki Minaj has officially settled a long-standing legal debt, successfully preventing the forced sale of her California home.
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, attorneys for Thomas Weidenmuller, a former security guard, informed the court that the rapper satisfied the judgment against her.
The legal battle began after Weidenmuller filed a lawsuit alleging that Nicki's husband, Kenneth Petty, assaulted him backstage at a concert in 2019.
A judge previously awarded Weidenmuller over $503,000 in a default judgment because Nicki and her husband failed to respond to the original lawsuit.
The situation grew dire for the star when a tentative ruling suggested she might have to sell her Hidden Hills mansion to pay the debt.
Nicki claimed she never received notice of the lawsuit from her former business manager, but the court still held her responsible for the payment.
Weidenmuller’s attorney, Paul Saso, told the court at the final hearing that Nicki had resolved the financial obligation.
It remains unclear if she paid the full $503,318 or reached a smaller settlement amount.
Saso noted that the settlement information arrived at the very last minute, leading him to apologize to the judge for the sudden update.
The resolution allows Nicki to move past the threat of losing her property.
The judge admitted that the forced sale of the house would have been the final outcome had the debt remained unpaid.
With the judgment now satisfied, the rapper can focus on her career without the weight of this specific legal drama.
