Chappell Roan's security guard involved in the weekend incident that reportedly left an 11-year-old girl in tears has identified himself as Pascal Duvier.
In a statement released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Duvier clarified that he was not working for Chappell Roan at the time of the encounter.
This confirms the singer’s earlier claims that the individual who aggressively confronted the family was not a member of her personal security team.
Duvier stated that he was present at the São Paulo hotel on behalf of a different client and took full responsibility for the interaction.
"The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals," he explained.
The bodyguard’s admission seeks to shift the blame away from the pop star, who has faced intense social media backlash and a reported "ban" from the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro following the event.
The controversy began when Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello accused Chappell Roan’s security of berating his wife and daughter during breakfast.
Jorginho claimed that his daughter, whose biological father is actor Jude Law, merely smiled at the singer before the guard intervened.
The athlete’s public outcry led many to believe that Chappell Roan had personally directed her team to keep fans at a distance, a narrative she vehemently denied in a subsequent Instagram video.
In her response, Chappell Roan emphasized that she never even saw the mother and child and harbored no ill will toward fans or children.
She apologized for the discomfort they felt, calling it "unfair" for security to assume bad intentions without cause.
The revelation that the guard belonged to a "third-party" entity supports the singer’s version of events and highlights the complications that can arise when multiple high-profile guests stay at the same venue.
