Singer FKA Twigs has initiated a new legal battle against her former partner, actor Shia LaBeouf, according to court documents filed on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The lawsuit centers on the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) provisions included in their 2020 sexual battery settlement.
FKA Twigs argues that the actor used these confidentiality terms to "silence" her and claims they violate California's Stand Together Against Non-Disclosure Act.
The legal dispute escalated after Shia LaBeouf filed a secret arbitration complaint in December, alleging that FKA Twigs breached the settlement terms.
The actor pointed to comments she made in a Hollywood Reporter cover story, where she discussed her ongoing passion for supporting survivors of domestic violence.
While Shia LaBeouf reportedly seeks an "exorbitant" amount of money for the alleged violation, FKA Twigs asks a judge to declare the NDA terms unenforceable under state law.
FKA Twigs maintains that her latest legal action is not motivated by financial gain.
Instead, she seeks to challenge a "campaign of intimidation" that she believes harms other victims of sexual and domestic violence.
The singer stated that survivors should not face bullying or silencing after settling legal claims.
She emphasized her commitment to organizations like Sistah Space and No More, which provide resources for those who lack the means to defend themselves against predators.
However in the original 2020 lawsuit, FKA Twigs accused Shia LaBeouf of physical abuse, emotional torment, and knowingly transmitting a health condition.
While that case ended in an out-of-court settlement, the new filing suggests that the relationship between the two remains highly contentious.
By challenging the validity of the NDA, FKA Twigs aims to set a precedent for how confidentiality agreements operate in cases involving sexual misconduct.
