According to Variety's exclusive news, Charli XCX is launching her new production company Studio365 with the upcoming directorial debut by photographer Aiden Zamiri, an original idea by Charli XCX developed by Aiden and writer Bertie Branders.
The movie's title is "The Moment", and A24 is gonna be distributor. This would be Charli's second time as a producer, since she's also doing that for her upcoming film "Erupcja" by Pete Ohs. After releasing her last album "Brat", she started talking about wanting to start doing new things, and putting music to the side (if not down) for a while, and she's going big on it.
She already has 7 movies in production and coming out soon, including Gregg Araki's comeback film "I Want Your Sex" and Julia Jackman's "100 Nights of Hero", even smaller roles alongside big names like Natalie Portman and Catherine Zeta-Jones in "The Gallerist" by Cathy Yan. And with "The Moment", being the main producer and the script being her original idea, it looks like Charli is marrying Studio365 and pretends to take her time developing this new art just like she did with her music for so many years.
She's always been an explorer, a genrebending artist and most importantly really interested in learning and becoming better and better at what she does, so if you start seeing her name attached to more and more projects to come, it shouldn't be a surprise.
