According to Deadline's exclusive, Taylor Russell will be the leading lady for 'The Thomas Crown Affair' revival happening at Amazon MGM, the second movie with Michael B. Jordan as a director, announced back in September 2024.
After directing 'Creed III' it looks like Jordan wants to keep exploring this filmmaking side, and his next project is this legendary heist film, now reimagined by British screenwriter Drew Pearce, who is taking care of the script for this new iteration.
We don't know about where the plot is gonna be heading in these modern times, but what we do know is that Jordan and the studio are betting big on this one, since according to the director this could be the next big action film since there's not a franchise taking that title at the moment.
With both previous versions of 'The Thomas Crown Affair', all steamy and full of passion and thrilling action, one of the most important parts of the film was of course the chemistry of our leading lady with whoever is going to play Thomas Crown, and according to the article, after a long and throughout casting process, Michael B. Jordan's leading lady and partner in crime will be 'Bones And All' star Taylor Russell.
In the past, the leading ladies were also rising stars that after playing their parts in 'The Thomas Crown Affair' moved on to A-list actresses and thats why the casting process for this time was so difficult, since everyone wanted to try and grab for it.
Let's hope that Russell can live up to the expectations, as well as Jordan, and we can get an exceptional remake to this iconic intellectual property. And maybe now that Amazon MGM has full control of Bond, we'll see the studio competing with itself this time.
